~ Indah Bulan Home and Garden Altars ~

Indah Bulan has, for years, practiced spiritually infused design. This practice of infusing both our clients spirit into each project and our own good-natured spirits into the design has inspired many variations of home altars. Many people think of altars as only being something used by a church, synagogue, or other house of worship as a focus of worship. Home altars are not necessarily associated with a specific religion, but reflect the spirit or intent of the one who will be using it. For instance, an altar could be a tribute to nature--a place to display beautiful found objects, or it could be used to honor someone or something special that inspires you. Buddhism has increased the awareness of meditation and creating focal points in ones' home for personal use, although Catholics also frequently have tributes somewhere in their homes. Today, the next generation of home altars reflects what ever it is that has the potential to give the user pause...a focal point for meditation, contemplation and inspiration. The most important benefit is to simply have something that brings joy, comfort or focus which will aide relaxation.

Altars can be assembled inside one's home and/or in the garden. Typically we arrange accessories together that tell a story or potentially fulfill a particular activity our client enjoys. Altars can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. After selecting an end table, sofa table, or just about anything with a flat surface decide what the main feature will be. Start your home altar with a center piece, then build a collection of items that resonate the same message, feeling or spirit. Here's a good thing, instead of leaving your altar constantly the same, make your altar an ongoing changing one... let it evolve into something infused with your own spirit.
